SHAWN MERCER: Boondock Blues

We've been hard at work in the studio, so expect the new CD to be ready this Spring or early Summer!!

Grace Potter guitarist Scott Tournet sat in with us in Unity for a few tunes, and it was a real blast. We now have some audio clips from that show up for you. "Tall Trees" and "Push", on the Tunes and Vids page, are the tracks that feature Scott's guitar work.

Please send us your photos, vids., or audio clips from our shows, and we'll post what we can!!! Thanks for your continued support!!

Shawn Mercer & his band the Boondock Blues Band are making a name for themsleves in Maine and the rest of New England. They've recently opened for acts such as Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, James McMurtry & the Heartless Bastards, Sarah Borges & the Broken Singles, and Shemekia Copeland. The recording of a new CD is set to begin soon, so expect a new album to be available by late fall '08!!

"He (Shawn Mercer) works the territory between Folk and Accoustic Blues with wonderful lyrics and melodies. When I first heard Me My Mo with Siiri Soucy's distant harmony the song permanently imprinted on my memory. Mr. Mercer is a local Maine artist and I really love his unique blues style." -Michael Lane, CD Baby post

"We rocked out to your record on the way back from Jersey... Great stuff

dude! Reminds me of all of the rootsy elements that I love about Neil Young,

JJ Cale, etc.. Very well done."

-Jason Spooner, The Jason Spooner Trio

"Their unique blend of rock, funk and jazz set the tone for the night. Playing all original songs, many audience members enjoyed being able to relate to the tunes." -Pat Shaw, The Maine Edge

"One comfortable listening experience." -Derek Blackmon, Indie Music.com
